Cardiovascular surgery in Cuba exhibits indicators of operations performed that account for the experience that distinguishes its multidisciplinary work teams.

Its more than 10,000 operations stand out, including: myocardial revascularizations, valve replacements with biological and mechanical prostheses, reconstruction or plasty of the mitral and tricuspid valves, surgery of the ascending aorta ; a department of Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology, which performs more than 2,000 coronary angiograms per year and more than 1,000 coronary intervention procedures.
